I’m Bernie Holmstock, owner of Hose Genie.

I’ve been in the vacuum cleaner business for over 30 years and I’m passionate about self-retracting hose central vacuum systems. Following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather, I took over the family business in 1988 of one retail vacuum store and grew to 4 retail stores and a very successful central vacuum business.

From the very first installation of a retractable hose central vacuum in my home, I knew this was the future of vacuums, but the process of sourcing and ordering the right parts was a difficult process. We soon streamlined the process and created what would become the Hose Genie installation kit, streamlining the installation process making it quick and efficient.

We received so many requests for Hide-A-Hose “Kits” from other dealers and DIY enthusiasts that we started Hose Genie to sell our kits.
